Home to the Universal Sufism of Hazrat Inayat Khan

The Triangle Sufi Center is associated with the International Sufi Movement founded by Hazrat Inayat Khan.  The goal of the Triangle Sufi Center is to share the ideas and experiences of Universal Sufism to those in the local (North Carolina Triangle) and Internet communities.  Sufism, the religion of the heart, employs universal mysticism to experience directly, the God within and the God without.

Once the doors of the heart are open,

the feeling of humility awakens,

finding oneself face to face

with the Divine Presence,

the living God within.

        - Pir O Murshid Hidayat Inayat-Khan

When thou art before me, my Beloved,

I rise upon wings

and my burden becometh light;

But when my little self riseth before my eyes,

I drop to the earth

and all its weight falleth upon me.

- Hazrat Inayat Khan

As the experience of unity with the essence, with the spirit of the whole creation, mysticism is basically the same in all religions.  It is the unifying core in all religions.  Ways and methods to approach this experience may differ, but the ultimate experience is one; and this unity radiates through all inner religious experience.

- Murshid Karimbakhsh Witteveen

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe"; a part limited in time and space.  He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.  This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us.    Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison.

- Albert Einstein

One Love, One Heart; Let's Get Together and Feel Alright.

- Bob Marley

It is therefore that the Sufi seeks God as his love,

lover, and beloved,

his treasure, his possession, his honor, his joy, his peace;

and his attainment in its perfection alone fulfills all demands of life both here and hereafter.

- Hazrat Inayat Khan
